The Precious Paws That Lead Us Here
Our journey didn't unfold abruptly with a single idea to revolutionize the way pets travel with you. Instead, it originated from the enduring love our family and friends poured into fostering over many years.
Rescue and adoption are a huge part of our lives. Oftentimes, we were outnumbered by dogs, cats, and even rabbits while growing up. Of course, that meant a ton of responsibility: vet visits, muddy play dates, road trips, hikes, walks, and who can forget the pet store runs. The one thing we never had? A reliable, sturdy, and capable seat cover and backseat extender to handle it all. Whether they were torn to shreds, ruined by more than one anxiety-induced accident, quickly became so dirty no washing machine could keep up, didn’t protect our car’s back seats, or were just straight-up uncomfortable and unsafe. They all seemed to fail one way or another.
The culmination of all the paws we have had the pleasure of caring for through all these years led us here. While it didn’t hit us immediately - we knew what we wanted to create. A hard bottom seat cover for dogs with a solid reinforced base that would eliminate the dreaded car sickness and anxiety, study enough to support our wild pack, and durable enough to withstand whatever their paws threw at it. And so it was born, The BarkBridge+ Backseat Extender!

The BarkBrige+ Backseat Extender is made for dogs with plywood to extend your car’s backseats with comfortable foam layered underneath waterproof material, giving your four-legged friend double the space to stretch, relax, and enjoy the ride. And who doesn’t like a little airflow? We incorporated a mesh window to help with air circulation on a hot summer day or cold winter night so everyone, including your pup, can breathe a little easier. Then we decided we needed something to save our poor doors from the mud and scratch marks while hanging their heads out the window. So we added door covers!
Car rides (or as we call them Bye, Byes) were now a hit - we didn’t have to worry about going light on breakfast before our spontaneous trips or vet appointments, excessive anxiety panting, or the occasional seat hopping mishaps.
